The San Juan Lineage cutthroat trout is a unique genetic lineage of the Colorado River cutthroat trout that was thought to be extinct prior to 2018. Several small populations of these trout have been found in isolated streams of the San Juan River Basin and have managed to survive in pure form after 140 years of non-native fish stocking. Talk about resilient.
