‘SENDING LOVE’ – Heart – Wild Rose (Rosa species)

The rose as a symbol for love and beauty dates back to Roman and Greek Mythology. Beyond symbolic use, wild roses have many medicinal and cosmetic uses. Rose petals can be used as a tea internally or as a wash externally for irritated skin. Rose hips have been prescribed for anemia because the mineral rich hips are believed to promote red blood cell production. Rose hip tea is also used for colds, cramps, bladder and kidney issues, and also as a heart tonic. The healing properties are associated with their high content of vitamins C, K, E, and B. Their high content of vitamin C has been historically used as a dietary supplement to ward off scurvy.
